On March 12th, Melbourne time, Australian Minister for Housing and Building Michael Sven Sukkar, accompanied by Victorian MPs Nick McGowan and Richard Welsh, visited the Nunawading residential project undertaken by Wanhua Energy's Modex overseas subsidiary. This visit focused on how Wanhua Energy's innovative Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) technology addresses Australia's housing shortage, marking a significant breakthrough for Wanhua Energy's green building solutions in developed country markets.

PART 1 Government and Enterprise Collaborate on Housing Solutions
At the project site, Minister Suka observed in detail the structural principles of SIPs (Self-Insulated Panels) and the on-site assembly process. This new type of green building material, integrating structure, insulation, soundproofing, and fire resistance, can improve construction efficiency by 60%, and the Wanhua polyurethane insulation layer built into the panels can increase building utilization by 8.5%. The project as a whole uses 90% green and recyclable materials. Minister Suka stated, “The federal government is accelerating the construction of affordable housing through various fiscal measures. Wanhua Energy’s prefabricated panel model is highly compatible with Australia’s housing strategy, and we look forward to cooperating with both parties on more social housing projects.”

PART 2 Technology Enables Solutions to Industry Pain Points
SIPs panels are a brand-new product developed by Wanhua Energy based on the needs of the Australian market, achieving CodeMark certification in the Australian building products system within three years. The Nunawading project, Victoria's first community development project to adopt SIPs technology, covers 49,060 square meters and plans to build 173 detached and townhouses. MP McGowan pointed out: "The 'Made in China + Local Construction' cooperation model can alleviate the pressure of construction worker shortages while ensuring that housing quality meets Australian standards, providing a sustainable solution for industry development."
PART 3 Contributing to the Creation of a Green Star 7-Star Community in Australia
Hao Ao, General Manager of Wanhua Energy Saving Modex, stated, “The Nunawading project is not only a solution to the housing shortage, but also a deep integration of Chinese green technology and Australian sustainable community standards. SIPs panels reduce carbon emissions throughout the entire community construction process. Combined with rooftop photovoltaics and a smart energy management system, this helps the project achieve Green Star 7-star certification, creating a sustainable community.”
